United Methodist Women

The purpose of UMW is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

A member of United Methodist Women is anyone who commits herself
to the purpose (see below) and chooses to belong.
United Methodist Women celebrates an inclusive membership
and welcomes all women who want to become members.
Being a member of The United Methodist Church is not required
nor is there any minimum age requirement. Out of a commitment for mission locally and globally
with women, children and youth, United Methodist Women choose to participate in meetings,
 prayer, financial giving, study, action and service.
United Methodist Women is a community of women who nurture and encourage one another
in their spiritual growth, personal leadership and transformation.
As a member, you accept the challenge to expand concepts of mission.

OUR PURPOSE: The organized unit of UNITED METHODIST WOMEN shall be a community of women
whose PURPOSE is to know God, and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ;
to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission
through participation in the global ministries of the church.

The UMW organization is flourishing at First United Methodist in Van Alstyne.

Join us in a very special time of worship when we follow the scriptures found in

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, "Be joyful always; pray continually;

give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

UMW meets the third Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in Benton Hall.
A devotional is given, refreshments are served, and
a nursery is provided for each meeting.
UMW will not meet in July - our next meeting will be
Monday, August 16th.
